The Felt Artist's Portfolio
The Artist's portfolio shows just some of the work she has created for clients.
Each bespoke piece of art is made of felted wool and her clients' stories!
Real People
Some are famous, some infamous, and some are simply people Ann's clients know.

The Gardening Club
Three passionate gardeners - one in her overalls and garden clogs, one with a broken wing and her recovery bird friend, and one Norske.Who wouldn't want to join this club?
RBG
Heart -broken when this iconic woman died, the artist made an RBG for a mourning friend.
Woz
A colleague recovering from rotator cuff surgery commissioned the artist to create a mini-me of her Physical Therapist. Everyone in the clinic knew exactly who it was.
Beloved Pets
Whether the pet is yours or anothers, it still lives on in one’s memory. A commissioned piece makes a unique gift for youself or someone you care about. Artistic comfort.
Benny
The artist offered her services for a fundraising auction. The artist helped the client work out her grief via a felted “portrait” of her beloved pet and companion of 15 years upon the occasion of his death
Peter
Champion Bernese Mountain dog Peter the Great died tragically, leaving a huge hole in the heart of his breeder/owner. Ann's skills delivered the animal’s markings, spirit and personality.
Maggie
A friend was touched and comforted by the gift of this replica of Maggie after her gentle Sheltie died.
Inspired by Book Characters
Like a favorite doll or stuffed animal, kids usually have favorite storybooks they want read over and over. Having a tiny felted character to hold, play with or talk to enhances the fun connection. These characters are meant to be handled and loved. They are sculpted to be safe - no loose parts to pull off and nearly indestructible (Except for dogs. They really seem to love to chew on them 😊)

Grumpy Monkey
Wonky Donkey
Elmer
Ann often enjoys creating characters to accompany children’s books. She sculpts them for her grandchildren as well as for friends’ children and grandchildren. Kids seem to love holding a small facimilie of a Red Dog, a Pouty Fish, or a Blue Elephant
This delightful book about a donkey traveling along with a host of maladies was so much fun. If you don’t know about it, google "Scottish Granny reading Wonkey Donkey”. You will be unable to keep from laughing, and won’t regret it.
This adorable children’s book about a patchwork elephant inspired the artist to create a whole set for her grandaughter’s 1st birthday. Caroline especially loves the mama and baby heart elephants. Other grandchildren were similiarly gifted - Jack with an entire zoo of 22 creatures, Claire with a collection of northwest Wisconsin birds and animals.
Inspired by Art
As a docent at the Milwaukee Art Museum, Ann has the distinct pleasure of viewing amazing art on a weekly basis. Teaching others about art has elevated her understanding of color, space, texture and technique. Of paramount imortance is encouraging the viewer to engage with the art on a personal level. It is the artist's intent for each client to spark a connection in a new way to a familiar work of a master painter/sculptor.

Felt Art Orbs
Illuminated Initials
Paul Klee
Taking her inspiration from famous artists with distinctive styles, the artist turns them in to 3D versions. Others not pictured: Monet’’s water Lilys; Paul Klee’s, Joan Miro’s, Gustov Klimt’s and Vasssilly Kandinsky’s abstracts; Van Gogh’s Starry nights & Sunflowers; and Georgia O’Keefe’s poppies.
Drawn from the Book of Kells, the artist felts the design of an initial on linen, any size, unframed.
Senecio, a portrait of an old man in Klee’s distintive geometric and abstract style skillfully reproduced in a very different medium.
Inspired by the world around us
I see art everywhere I go. I love collecting wood, stones, pods, pinecones, rusty metal parts, bones, seashells and what others might consider garbage. Everything is beautiful in it’s own way. Recreating bits and pieces of the world around me in wool gives me great joy and scratches my ever-present “artist’s itch".

GREAT BLUE HERON
Standing 12 inches tall, this majestic bird is one of my larger pieces. I have him posed in my home in a vignette with a beauatiful piece of driftwoond and some polished rocks. I’ve also sculpted cardinals, loons, parrots, robins, finches, and many other birds, including my very own Goffin’s Cockatoo, Bob. I can’t decide if I like doing birds, animals or people best, so I do them all!
A COUPLE OF LOONS
A vibrant abstract background provides the setting for a couple of common loons along a grassy shore in this eloquent wall hanging.
RED BARN
Northwest Wisconsin provides inspiration for “paintings”, both man- made and natural settings. This highly representational composition differs from other, more abstracted styles the artist often chooses. While the end product will be the artist’s interpretation of the image being commissioned, she works closely with the buyer to ensure their preferences are understood and respected.
